We depart from the centre of Vejer de la Frontera cycling across the most emblematic streets. We will visit the famous windmills and flour mills before cycling downhill (about 2.5km.) heading the fishing village of barbate.
We will enter a path next to the river, riding for about 10km down to Barbate. The landscape near Barbate is flat, with spectacular views of the wetlands of the old Lagoon of la Janda. Along the way we will enjoy a varied and rich fauna and vegetation (ideal to watch sedentary and migratory birds). We will have the chance to watch the Ibis Ermita (endangered species).
We will arrive in Barbate, a traditional fishing village, where fishermen are specialized in catching red-fin tuna using the traditional art of the trap (Almadraba). We will visit the old fishing port and the new building, where the old fish market was located (this is now the interpretation center of the tuna).
We will walk along the promenade of the amazing Playa del Carmen, where we will taste the famous fried fish in any of the bars. Finally we will visit your marina overlooking one of the most fascinating views of the cliffs and the beach of Yerbabuena.
