THROUGH PINE FORESTS AND STREAMS

The Alcornocales represents one of the most interesting ecosystems of the Iberian peninsula.s The route starts at the Garganta del Joven Barbate, known as the Dark Harbor. We will be passing through a gallery forest composed of alders, quejigos and willows. Before we reach the shelter of Picacho, we will enjoy watching the flight of birds of prey and the races of different animals like the roe or the stag. In our way through the forest of cork trees, we will cross numerous sources of streams.

After our visit to the Shelter of Picacho, we will face the west slope of the mountain range, which presents a very pleasant and different aspect compared to the previous one. Here ash trees and the ivy acquire an extraordinary development lining trunks and sometimes protruding above the trees.

The price includes: mountain bike, transport, protections (knee pads, elbow pads, helmet, gloves) and experienced guides.

This tour covers a distance of about 42km. and it lasts around 5 hours (including the stops)
