CYCLING ALONG THE SANDY BEACHES AND DUNES OF CADIZ. WHY NOT? – RENT A FAT BIKE!

There are many types of bicycles such as urban, mtb, downhill, road, electric, ETC. Bicycles are divided into a seemingly endless number of categories and sub-categories. You’ll make the most of your bicycling experience if you choose the right kind of Equipment for an specific use. Your bike should fit your needs, interests and fitness.

In this area in Cadiz, Southern Spain, one can find spectacular beaches and dunes as well as beautiful natural parks such as La Breña, El Estrecho, Tombolo de Trafalgar, Los Toruños, etc.

The yearly average temperature oscillates between 10 and 30 degrees. Most of the year we have good weather to enjoy a bike tour. In the Summer time we always epart early in the morning or in the afternoon. In the Winter we can start cycling anytime, as we are not conditionated by the temperature.

We have the perfect bike type to ride through Nature Parks, dunes and beaches: the fat bike.

Fat bikes are those designed to go through snow or sand. Using  wheels between 4” and 5″ (normally with low pressure). These features make the fat bike the perfect bycicle to enjoy a different beach day of your holidays.

The feeling of riding through sandy beaches is incredible. One does not have to stick to lanes and rules. To ride freely wherever you want to go is something unique. Fat bikes are designed to enjoy nature and immerse yourself in it. It is a combination of sport and relax, effort and calm, fun and tranquility.

I would recommend the following excursion and highlights:

1. Climb the Trafalgar lighthouse to see the views.

2. Cycling along the beach of Zahora to El Palmar.

3. Cycling through the Natural Park of La Breña to the viewpoints of the Torre del Tajo and the Mecca Tower.

4. Cycling downhill heading the other side of the park to the Hierbabuena beach in Barbate.

Another beautiful area I would suggest you to visit would be Bolonia. Take a walk along its beaches or take the paths that take you to the beach of Punta Paloma or Valdevaqueros. There is alot to see and feel. Sand dunes and pine forests in front of the sea will be waiting for you. You can also make an excursion through the Natural Park of the Strait visiting the fortifications and bunkers of the Spanish Civil War. You will enjoy the magnificent views of the African continent.

Whatever you do using a fat bike will not leave you indifferent. It is an excellent opportunity to get out of the beach routine during your vacation days and spend the day with friends or family.
