Dear friends,
Sometimes people visiting Cadiz in the summer time are surprised by the Levante wind. The Levante is a warm, east to northeast wind that flows from the Alboran Channel and is funneled through the Strait of Gibraltar. If the wind becomes strong it can ruin your day at the beach.
If you have a family plan with children the situation can be chaotic. You may be missing precious vacation days. The apartment can cost a lot of money and you are not prepared to deal with a situation like this as it is vacation time.
May aim is to propose you alternative plans in case you face the Levante wind when you are in Cadiz:

Natural Park of La Breña

Tour through the Natural Park of La Breña

If your children are not very young (+ 5 years old) you can join this route without problems. You can also do the route if you have a very young child who walks less or even a baby cart, as the way back is all downhill. In order to find the path, you need to take the Barbate – Los Caños road and when the first slope ends (about 800 meters from Barbate) on the left you will see a small and Sandy parking lot. Leave the car there and take a path that leaves the car park and surrounds the cliff going up. At the end of the hill, walk about 300mt. more until you get to the Torre del Tajo (Tagus Tower) where you will find magnificent views. The return way is by the same road. The route will take about two kilometers one way and another two kilometers back.

This is an excursion between trees with zip lines, hanging bridges, Tibetan bridges … indicated for adults and children starting 6 years old. They have different circuits depending on age and has almost 60 different games distributed among them. You can always leave the younger children (from 3 to 6 years old) at labyrinth and the trampoline. Loads of fun assured!

This new Karting circuit is barely two years old and has the most modern facilities. It is located on the road from Conil to El Palmar on the left hand side.
It has a cafeteria service for people who just want to see people driving. 10 minutes for 15 EUR. Children can also ride less powerful karts.

For the little ones you will always have the opportunity to do this activity. It consists of a walk of about 45 minutes in donkeys dressed in the old way. The guide will go enlivening the way with stories and anecdotes of the area and about the animals. This option will also allow you to visit the village of Vejer. You can have a snack or dinner in this wonderful white washed village. of white intricate streets and magical corner. We will write a post about Vejer later on.

I need to mention that this is the activity we run (I left it on the last position). This is for sure a fun plan. Hire with us a bicycle route and take your children too!
