Dos Bahías Natural Park, Marshes in Palmones river y Alcornocales Natural Park
The Green Path of Dos Bahías flows entirely through ravines of the province of Cádiz, in the direction northwest-southeast, from the township of Puerto Real, to Los Barrios, crossing also the townships of Medina Sidonia and Benlup-Casas Viejas. Its approximate length is 93km, starting at the seashore of the Atlantic, in the Natural Park of the Bay of Cádiz and ending in the Mediterranean littoral, in the Natural Setting Marhslands of the Palmones River. A part of its itinerary goes into another Protected Area of great beauty and natural value, the Natural Park of Los Alcornocales.
Dos Bahías Green Path accomplishes a double function: an ecological one and a social-economical another one. The ecological one derives from its role as linking nexus between the different natural areas that it goes through. On the other hand, the fact that it flows though areas with important natural, cultural and historical values, contribute to make it a perfect place for the development of touristic-recreational activities and thus, a boosting axe of the economy of the townships it goes through.

TOUR
FIRST SECTION OF 56 KM
This section combines remarkable landscapes and sensory values. In this route you can observe the alignment of pine trees dominating this beautiful landscape. This same route existed before the Mesta. The Romans used it to socialize with different settlements of the area. We will get to Medina Sidonia and finish the tour at the Celemín Reservoir.
SECOND SECTION OF 37 KM
This section runs through the heart of Los Alcornocales Natural Park, using a narrow trail that begins in the Motilla del Bacinete and the Cañada Real Medina Sidonia – San Roque. We will cross the vallyes of Alisoso and Aciscar rivers, both belonging to the basin of the Barbate River and Valdeinfierno tributary of Palmones River. We move from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean basin.
DAY BY DAY
Day 1.
Introduction of our services and accommodation
Day 2.
Transfer to Puerto Real from where the 56km route starts. This day we will make the Puerto Real – Ventorrillo del Carbón – Embalse del Celemín section.
Day 3.
We will transfer you to the reservoir where we will continue with a 37km section in which we will pass through the Montera del Torero to finish in the marshes of Palmones. Return to Vejer and end of our services.
